Key West, a paradise brimming with vibrant culture, azure waters, and an illustrious history, is a dream destination for many. Among the myriad of accommodations that this tropical haven offers, the Paradise Inn stands out as an epitome of charm and serenity. Whether you are seeking a tranquil escape or planning the wedding of your dreams, this enchanting inn provides an idyllic backdrop. Let’s explore what makes the Paradise Inn a premier choice for couples.

About the Paradise Inn

A Prime Location

Nestled in the heart of Key West’s historic Old Town, the Paradise Inn enjoys a location that is both central and secluded. And when I say the Paradise Inn in Key West is secluded,, it is truly secluded. I literally lived across the street from the Inn for six months back in 2010 and it barely registered that it was there. The majority of the hotel is so hidden among a forest of palms, that it is easy to forget that it is there.

Situated just a few blocks from the bustling Duval Street, the inn provides easy access to the island’s premier attractions, dining, and nightlife, yet offers a serene retreat away from the crowds. This perfect balance makes it an excellent base for exploring everything Key West has to offer.

Imagine starting your day with a leisurely stroll to the nearby Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum or savoring a café con leche at one of the charming local coffee shops. With the iconic Southernmost Point only a short walk away, you can relish the best of Key West without the hassle of driving.

An Oasis of Charm

The Paradise Inn exudes an old-world charm that transports guests to a bygone era of elegance and simplicity. The inn’s architecture reflects the classic Key West style, with its white picket fences, lush tropical gardens, and inviting verandas. The carefully curated decor and intimate setting create a peaceful ambiance that feels like a home away from home.

The rooms and suites are tastefully appointed, combining modern comforts with timeless elegance. Each space is uniquely decorated, featuring plush bedding, cozy furnishings, and thoughtful touches like fresh flowers and local artwork. The attention to detail ensures a personalized experience that larger resorts simply cannot match.

Exceptional Amenities

One of the hallmarks of the Paradise Inn is its commitment to providing exceptional amenities that enhance the guest experience. The inn boasts a heated outdoor pool, surrounded by swaying palm trees and fragrant hibiscus flowers. It’s the perfect spot to unwind with a good book or enjoy a refreshing swim after a day of exploring the island.

For those seeking relaxation, the inn offers a secluded hot tub where you can soak away your cares under the stars. The lush garden courtyard, with its meandering pathways and tranquil koi pond, provides a peaceful sanctuary for quiet reflection or intimate conversations.

Guests can start their day with a complimentary continental breakfast, featuring a delightful selection of pastries, fresh fruit, and locally roasted coffee. The friendly and attentive staff are always on hand to offer recommendations and assist with any special requests, ensuring that every stay at the Paradise Inn is memorable.

Considerations for Staying at the Paradise Inn for Your Wedding

Whether you are booking a room for your wedding weekend or for a wedding planning visit, here are some considerations in regards to the property.

Pros

Daily Breakfast + Happy Hour

The property does offer a free breakfast and happy hour. The breakfast is a typical continental hotel breakfast. And while it is nothing out-of-this-world, it is nice to have the option to eat a quick meal before you start your day of exploring (or playing or wedding planning).

The hotel also offers a free happy hour every day from 5-7. It is simple with wine, cheese, and nuts, but it is a great way to start your evening. They offer 2 types of red wines and 2 white wines.

Free Onsite Parking

Yes, you read that right. Parking, and free parking at that, can feel as rare as snow in Key West, but the Paradise does offer onsite, free parking. The caveat is that it is on a first-come, first-served basis, but there did seem to be ample space.

Location

The location is exceptional.  Just one street over from Duval and a few blocks to the Atlantic Ocean, the inn is in an excellent location for walking or biking anywhere on the island.

Adult Only

Another nice aspect of the hotel is that it is adult-only. While this may or may not work for your wedding guests, it is something to keep in mind.

Great Pool and Hot Tub

The pool and spa on the property are wonderful. The water is clean, refreshing, and the gardens surrounding the pool are highly manicured. For those cooler Key West nights, the hot tub is in a secluded corner of the property and definitely worth checking out.

Cons

Basic Rooms

While the hotel is self-described as subtle luxury, I would more likely call the rooms basic. They are clean but bare, and the decor is minimal if not a bit kitschy. The colors are over-the-top pastels, and the bathrooms a bit outdated, albeit not dirty.

A Decent Choice

Overall, I would say that this hotel is great for budget travelers who still want a clean, relaxing experience. I would definitely stay there again, but not for a special trip.

It would be a great place to contact about blocking rooms for your guests, as it is more reasonably priced than a lot of the hotels in the area.
